It’s Coggles here! We’re helping you with all your Christmas party uncertainties, from sparkles to suits, we’ve teamed up with Illamasqua to guide you through all the party style advice you need this season!

So you’ve got your outfit, but what about your makeup? Christmas party season is the prime time to step outside of your day-to-day beauty routine and have a little fun. Dedicate a little extra time to getting ready and play around with new textures, colours and techniques for a sparkling festive look. With so much inspiration around, it can be hard to decide which makeup look will work best with your outfit. Should you go bright and colourful? Or silver and glittering? Well to help you decide, we’re sharing our favourite Christmas party style inspirations and ideas. The 60s StarletThe vintage revival we saw throughout 2019 shows no sign of slowing as we enter the new decade. From Margot Robbie’s homage to Sharon Tate, to Lucy Boynton’s dreamy red carpet looks, we’re head over heels for fashion throwbacks at the moment. 60s inspired dresses are big on our party season radar as we’re lusting after big floaty smock dresses and a-line shapes. Easily dressed up or down, for that big work party we’re styling our smock dress with block heels or heeled boots if your occasion is a little more casual. For a big hit of vintage influence, look to the eyes. Using Smiley Face from the Electrify Artistry Palette across the lid and blending Sporan Spice into the crease, recreate the doe-eyed gaze of 60s starlets like Sharon Tate, Edie Sedgwick and Twiggy.SequinsThere’s no better excuse to wear sparkles than Christmas. It’s a period for maximalism so don’t be afraid of going for something a little out there. Whether it’s a shimmering organza sleeve top or a full sequined wrap dress, let the outfit do all the talking by pairing it with muted accessories such as a simple black clutch and thin ankle strap heels. Sparkles are most effective when they’re not crowded, so avoid any clutter by opting for a clutch without any additional detailing or metal hardware. Keep everything else sleek and clean to let your outfit shine brightest. For makeup, we’re following the same advice by keeping the look fresh. Quick but effective, we’d be sweeping one colour over the entire lid, brightening our cheeks with the Beyond Powder in OMG Burst and then popping a lipstick into our clutch. For darker sparkles, the Antimatter lipstick in Turntable is to die for if you want pure glamour. SuitFor an alternative Christmas party style, we love a matching suit set. In a luxurious jewel colour, a suit is a perfect outfit to assert your fashion authority. It’s a power move that so many incredible women have sported so well, from Cara Delevinge and Miley Cyrus to Zendaya and Blake Lively. To dress it up, we’d be looking for a suit with either texture or structure, especially looking at soft velvet suits or structured jackets with tailoring that pulls in the waist. Under the jacket, wear as little as you want from a lace bra to a mesh polo neck, in either a stand-out colour or go for all-black. An outfit this powerful deserves a statement makeup look, so slick on a bright lip. To continue with the alternative theme, we’d be breaking Christmas tradition with an orange or pink lip over the classic red. Choose the Antimatter Lipstick in Legend to create the look.SimpleMore of a minimalist? You truly can never go wrong with a simple slip dress. Silky floor-length slips have become a staple in our day-to-day and occasionwear wardrobes alike due to their versatility. Silk and satin really require no effort to dress up, so simply slip on your heels and some gold accessories for a look that whispers lux wherever you go. Little effort with a lot of pay off, silky materials will make you look and feel incredible this festive season. When your dress is simple, your makeup doesn’t have to be. This year Alexa Demie’s makeup on Euphoria is giving us the ultimate inspiration for a glitzy Christmas party style. All of the colours and all of the sparkles, a Euphoria-inspired makeup look is perfect to top off a more minimalist outfit. We’d be opting for frosty blue tones or rich purples from the Electrify Artistry Palette finished off with little gemstones if you want to go all the way.
