As spooky season approaches, so too do the tutorials on how to master the typical Halloween looks. Whether it's a clown or cat, there are a few basic Halloween looks that resurface year-in, year-out. However, at Illamasqua, we don't do 'typical'. We like to think outside of the box. Enter: Our Euphoria-inspired makeup looks. Why not use Halloween to your advantage and try out some looks that might veer on the daring side for every day? If you've always wanted to wear glitter tears, Halloween is the perfect opportunity to introduce them to your makeup repertoire!
Stand out from the crowd this year with glitter, neon, and creativity. Here's our Euphoria-inspired makeup looks.
Cassie Euphoria Makeup
To begin, we have the Cassie Euphoria makeup. The pairing of the red lip with the grungy, glittery eye makeup makes this quite clearly Euphoria-inspired makeup. This look is taken from a Halloween episode when Cassie dresses up as Alabama Worley from True Romance, so it's particularly on-theme! Start your base how you would normally, but keep it simple. For some tips, take a look at our guide How to Apply Foundation. Hold back on the blush and bronzer, the focus here is primarily on the eyes and lips.
Once you have your base ready, how to proceed with this Cassie Euphoria makeup is easier than it looks!
Step One: To start, if you need help with an unsteady hand, apply a small piece of tape from the outer corner of the eye to the other corner of the brow as shown below in white. This will help to create that clean, straight line of colour.
Step Two: With Illamasqua Precision Ink in the shade Zircon, outline the shape of the eye-look, starting at the inner corner and follow the curve of your eye's crease.
Step Three: Fill in the inside of the outline so the entire front of the lid is covered in the shimmery blue pigment.
Step Four: Trace the bottom lash-line with the same colour, reaching right into the inner corner and staying close to the lashes.
Step Five: Remove the tape to reveal the pristine, glistening shape of blue on your eyelid.
Step Six: Trace the top and bottom outline of the eye with the Colouring Eye Pencil in black, staying as close to the lash line as possible.
Step Seven: Dip a thin Liner Brush into Illamasqua Pure Pigment in the shade Static. Dampen the brush with some setting spray to intensify the colour and lightly dot the pigment over the blue base. Emphasize the specks of silver at the inner corner for an eye-catching finish.
Step Eight: Coat the lashes with two or three coats of mascara.
Step Nine: Carefully line the lips with a sharpened Colouring Lip Pencil in the shade Spell, and finish off with a coat of Illamasqua Sheer Veil Lipstick in the shade Starshine for the hydrated, red lip finish.
Cassie's Euphoria makeup is a grungy, glittery look that effortlessly wins Halloween.

Rue's Glitter Tears
Next we have an iconic euphoria makeup look, Rue's glitter tears.
The main obstacle to Rue's glitter tears is managing to achieve the right texture and consistency of the tears themselves. They need to have dimension, an intense pigment, and most importantly, they need to stay put.
Luckily, Illamasqua's Sealing Gel achieves exactly this, making the process of this euphoria-inspired makeup look a lot easier.
Step One: Using a Round Concealer Brush, lightly dust a coating of the Illamasqua Pure Pigment in the shade Beguile on the surface of the eyelid and add a light coat of mascara.
Step Two: Mix two to three drops of the Sealing Gel with the Iconic Chrome pigment in the shade Captivating.
Step Three: Use the Round Concealer Brush to sweep the paste from the inner to the outer corner of the eye, just under the lower lash line. Where the line begins and ends, drag the gel down the face to create Rue's glitter tears.
Step Four: Finish this Euphoria-inspired makeup with a nude lip to make the eyes all the more striking.
Jules Euphoria Makeup
Jules' Euphoria makeup is all about bright, cheerful eyes with a barely-there base. It screams a fun, playful look that shouldn't be taken too seriously. The particular euphoria eye makeup look we're going to go for here is the instantly recognisable gradient of neon pigments.
For this look, your main tool is the Experimental Artistry Palette. Luckily, this palette has all of the shades you'll need to achieve the full euphoria-inspired makeup look on the eyes. The three colours you'll need are a bright red, orangey-pink, and neon yellow.
Step One: Starting at the inner corner, use a small blending brush to coat the first inner third of the eyelid with the shade Disturbing, stopping at the crease.
Step Two: Next apply the shade Comique to the centre of the eyelid. Keep using circular motions with your hand until the pigment is blended nicely into the red.
Step Three: Finally, apply the shade Expression onto the inner bottom of the eyelid and the outer corner. Use the tape trick again mentioned in the Cassie Euphoria makeup to ensure the connecting-line from the crease to the outer corner of the eye is straight and sharp.
Step Four: Finish with a thin coat of mascara and a lip tint that best suits your natural lip colour, and you're good to go!
