BEYOND FOUNDATION: HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT SHADE
We have developed a super easy and simple 3 step system that allows you to identify either the colour you need or the colour you want. It's important to point out that while identifying your shade, look not only at your face, but also your neck and décolletage, as ideally you want your face and body to have some shade consistency.
Step 1
Identity which colour category you sit within, from Light, Medium or Dark. These are generalised categories that can often be identified as to how your skin reacts when in the sun. So for example, LIGHT skins tend to burn very easily in the sun, but will slowly develop colour and eventually tan, MEDIUM skins will tan in the sun, but if exposed to the sun for a longer time, can burn and DARK skins, tend to tan easily and will rarely burn.
Step 2
Identify your undertone, from GOLDEN, ROSE OR NEUTRAL. Undertone can be confusing if you're not used to looking at skin in this way, but it is essentially the tones you have in your skin, aside from pigmentation, rosea, blemishes or when you blush. We have separated our undertones in to 3 overarching shades; GOLDEN is cool, olive, essentially skin that has a little more yellow tone than pink. ROSE is rosey, warm blush tones, essentially skin that has more pink or red within it. NEUTRAL is the perfect mix of both ROSE and GOLDEN tones, creating a beige, peachy skin tone.
Step 3
Choose your depth from 1-3 and in some cases 4. The depth of the foundation is based on how dark or light you want or need your foundation to be. So within each category and within each undertone we offer a sliding scale of shades from 1 being the lightest and 3 (or 4) being the darkest.
As mentioned previously, most people like to have a foundation that matches the face and body perfectly, but there are many people that want a shade that is darker and lighter than their actual skin tone - and this is fine! Makeup and especially skin is a very personal, bespoke element of beauty

Ensure you are primed to perfection by using Hydra Veil Primer, this will ensure your skin looks stays in place all day and will smooth away any pores or fine lines for a youthful, perfected glow. I like to apply a 10 pence size of product around the T-Zone after moisturiser.

lovely product
this foundation is buildable and lightweight with really nice coverage. i only ordered a couple of samples but unfortunately thay were not a match for me. i have discovered that i am cool toned under tone skin, so hopefully once speaking to a member of the care team i can get a good match shade for my skin type. thank you.

Leaves a beautiful soft and smooth look. Good for mature skin as doesn't settle quick into the lines. Bit runny texture and also need fixing or setting spray with it.

Perfect light dewy coverage
I got the LR1, LN1 and LG1 samples to see which would be best for me because I couldn’t figure out my undertone. It sat really nicely on my face and didn’t cake at all, which I find with most other brand foundations thanks to very finicky and textured skin. It was really easy to leave without powder and it didn’t slip off over the day with natural face oils. Alternatively a really small amount of fine powder in key areas left a lovely matte but soft looking finish. Would recommend applying small amounts initially and building up where needed, and a slightly damp clean beauty blender worked best for me over using brushes. Can’t wait for my matching shade to be restocked.

As awsome as skinbase
I love their skin base foundation, so was curios to see how this foundation looked. It is light in texture, instantly found my match and looked almost like I was wearing no foundation just my skin but flawless!!! I love this foundation!! The coverage maybe lighter than the skinbase foundation, but I don’t mind.

Lovely
Good size samples. Lovely product. Goes on easily and you can build up coverage if you want to.  Only thing it did sit in my lines a bit near my mouth but that’s not the products fault! I would thoroughly recommend this foundation if you want a dewy light coverage.

Didnt really like the foundation it jist felt lile a greasy film on my face, I lile to have a good coverage and this wasnt good for me im afraid

Barely any coverage
I was pleased with the colour match of the sample I order, however the coverage of this is slim to none. Quite a flat finish on my face and also looks quite wet. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite compare to the brand I already use for light coverage.Â
